Iran’s Khamenei states Israel ‘must be punished’ for Syria embassy assault

Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, reported on Wednesday that Israel “should be punished and it shall be” for attacking the Iranian embassy compound in Syria.

In a important escalation of Israel’s war with regional adversaries, suspected Israeli warplanes bombed Iran’s consulate in the Syrian funds on April 1 in a strike that Iran reported killed 7 military services advisers.

“When they attack the consulate, it is as if they have attacked our soil,” Khamenei claimed in a speech marking the close of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. “The evil regime built a mistake and will have to be punished and it shall be,” he additional.

In an evident response to Khamenei, Israeli International Minister Israel Katz said on Wednesday that Israel will respond if Iran assaults Israel from its individual soil.

“If Iran assaults from its possess territory, Israel will reply and assault in Iran,” Katz reported in article on the social media system X.

Iran backs groups that have entered the fray across the area because Israel launched its invasion of Gaza adhering to the Oct. 7 assault on southern Israel by Hamas.
