Uk regulator starts off enforcement investigation into LME nickel trading halt

Britain’s Economical Conduct Authority (FCA) has started an enforcement investigation into the London Metal Exchange’s (LME) suspension of nickel buying and selling in 2022, the watchdog explained on Friday.

The FCA’s investigation will assessment the conduct, methods and controls that the LME experienced in put concerning Jan. 1 and March 8 last calendar year.

The LME suspended chaotic nickel trading on March 8, 2022, after prices doubled to a report over $100,000 a tonne in a number of several hours.

Equally the FCA and the Bank of England commenced a critique into the trading halt last April.

Traders operate in the Ring, the open trading floor of the new London Metal Exchange (LME) in central London.
