U.S. launches investigation in Brazil’s trading practices

The U.S. Trade Representative said on Tuesday it had launched an investigation into Brazil’s “unfair” trading practices.

The investigation, which was previously announced by President Donald Trump, will seek to determine whether Brazil’s acts, policies, and practices related to digital trade and preferential tariffs, among others, are “unreasonable or discriminatory and burden or restrict” U.S. commerce.
