WASHINGTON The Biden administration imposed fresh sanctions aimed at the economic network connected to Russian billionaire and enterprise tycoon Alisher Usmanov.

The new sanctions, coordinated with the British governing administration, focus on 25 people and 29 entities in 20 jurisdictions.

Usmanov, a single of Russia’s wealthiest billionaires, was designated in March 2022 in the weeks just after Moscow’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

“As the Kremlin seeks strategies all-around the expansive multilateral sanctions and export controls imposed on Russia for its war from Ukraine, the United States and our allies and associates will proceed to disrupt evasion techniques that assistance Putin on the battlefield,” claimed Beneath Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Fiscal Intelligence Brian Nelson.

Previous yr, German authorities seized the world’s major superyacht following formal affirmation that the vessel had inbound links to Usmanov.
