Two Koreas exchange warning shots near maritime border amid tensions

North and South Korea exchanged warning pictures off the west coast on Monday, accusing each and every other of breaching their western maritime border amid heightened military tension.

“We requested first countermeasures to strongly expel the enemy warship by firing 10 shells of many rocket launchers near the waters exactly where the enemy movement transpired,” a spokesperson for the Basic Workers of the North’s Korean People’s Military mentioned in a statement carried by the formal KCNA news agency.

The JCS stated it experienced carried out a “normal operation” more than the border intrusion, and named the North’s move a “provocation” and a violation of a 2018 bilateral military pact banning “hostile acts” in the border locations.

Tensions with North Korea worsen
