Trump floats ‘all tariff policy’ to swap earnings tax, sources say

Donald Trump on Thursday brought up the concept of imposing an “all tariff coverage” that would finally help the U.S. to get rid of the income tax, sources in a personal meeting with the Republican presidential candidate instructed CNBC.

Trump, in the conference with GOP lawmakers at the Capitol Hill Club in Washington, D.C., also talked about employing tariffs to leverage negotiating energy over bad actors, in accordance to an additional supply in the room.

The remarks clearly show Trump, who championed tariffs as a foreign policy multi-software during his initial time period in business, is contemplating a significantly additional protectionist trade agenda if he defeats President Joe Biden in November.

Spokespeople for Trump’s campaign did not straight away reply to CNBC’s requests for remark.
