“I think the voters, who are the most impressive men and women on the planet, have been actually crystal clear that they are telling me: not now,” Scott continued.

The announcement was a surprise: Scott’s marketing campaign despatched a fundraising e-mail not extended prior to he announced he was leaving the race. “”We want to give you A person Previous Possibility to donate this weekend and assist Tim reach his campaign goal. Can you chip in to enable Tim win?” the marketing campaign wrote.

His decision will come times immediately after the third Republican presidential debate in Miami, immediately after which the South Carolina senator canceled a scheduled weekend campaign swing in Iowa, citing the flu.

Scott began the 2024 marketing campaign somewhat little-regarded in contrast to some of his competitors. But his campaign and an allied tremendous PAC expended nearly $25 million on ads in Iowa and other early states advertising him as an optimistic conservative, according to AdImpact, an ad-monitoring assistance. Scott observed an uptick in early-state polls before long by means of the summertime.

But he never ever caught fireplace in the GOP debates, and his poll numbers stagnated as an in-point out rival caught interest. Scott is dropping out of the presidential race just as former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley has pulled into 2nd location in early-state major polls.

Scott indicated in the job interview with Gowdy that he was not hunting to endorse just one of his former rivals at this time.

“I am heading to advise that the voters analyze just about every prospect and their candidacies and frankly, their past and make a determination for the future of the nation,” Scott mentioned. “The greatest way for me to be beneficial is to not weigh in on who they really should endorse.”
