The entire West is threatened if an aggressor is just not challenged, Dutch PM suggests


Europe requirements to do far more to assist Ukraine, according to the Dutch key minister.

Dutch Key Minister Mark Rutte explained Thursday it was essential that Europe ongoing to stand up to Russia’s aggression, expressing the region had to do “every little thing we can to assistance Ukrainians.”

“If an aggressor is not challenged and can go about his enterprise, it won’t conclude with Ukraine. The whole West is threatened,” Rutte informed CNBC, as he discussed Europe’s reaction to the war in Ukriane at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Rutte referenced the 1938 Munich Settlement in his dialogue with CNBC’s Steve Sedgwick, exactly where the allied forces agreed that Czechoslovakia would surrender its border areas and defenses to Nazi Germany.

“People today sense that this is about values, that we are unable to settle for 1 country invading another state … It is also about our collective protection,” he included.

Rutte also stated Europe demands to do additional to aid Ukraine, but that the concern of sending tanks is “a delicate final decision.”

“I do concur there is an argument to send [tanks] to Ukraine. “We have to do all the things we can to assistance Ukrainians,” Rutte claimed.

Ukraine has repeatedly requested its Western allies to give tanks to enable it fight Russia, which has brought about pressure among European nations around the world, with some fearing the provision of weapons could additional provoke Moscow.

But the location could be close to reaching an arrangement.
