Thai King Maha Vajiralongkorn has reduced former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra’s 8-year jail sentence to a person 12 months, the royal gazette reported on Friday.

“Thaksin acknowledged his criminal offense and confirmed remorse,” the document explained, introducing the previous primary minister was unwell.
