Storms, air targeted traffic handle facility hold off 1000’s of flights

More than 7,000 U.S. flights were being delayed and nearly 900 canceled on Sunday as thunderstorms snarled air vacation in and out of some of the country’s busiest airports and the Federal Aviation Administration briefly halted departures to big airports serving Washington D.C., citing repairs to a electric power panel wanted at an air site visitors manage facility.

Soon right after 6 p.m. ET, the FAA issued ground stops for Baltimore/Washington Worldwide Thurgood Marshall Airport, Ronald Reagan Washington Countrywide Airport and Dulles Global Airport, protecting against plane from using off for people destinations. It lifted the orders inside an hour.
