Spouse of ex-Scottish leader arrested, British media reports

The husband of previous Scottish very first minister and Scottish Nationwide Bash leader Nicola Sturgeon has been arrested in a celebration finance probe, British media claimed Wednesday.

Law enforcement in Scotland did not establish Peter Murrell as the 58-calendar year old person arrested Wednesday “in relationship with the ongoing investigation into the funding and funds of the Scottish National Party.” Even so, Britain’s Press Affiliation, the BBC and others claimed it was Murrell.

“Plainly it would not be appropriate to remark on any reside law enforcement investigation but the SNP have been cooperating entirely with this investigation and will continue on to do so,” the social gathering mentioned in a statement produced right after the arrest.
