Previous Meta working chief Sheryl Sandberg is leaving the firm’s board of administrators.

“With a heart crammed with gratitude and a mind loaded with recollections, I enable the Meta board know that I will not stand for reelection this May,” Sandberg wrote in a Fb article on Wednesday.

Sandberg, 54, joined Fb in 2008 as Mark Zuckerberg’s top rated deputy after spending about 7 decades at Google. In 2012, she turned a board member at the company. Through her tenure, Facebook rose from a highflying startup to develop into one particular of the most important firms in the environment, topping a $1 trillion current market cap at its peak in 2021.

Sandberg announced her departure from Meta in mid-2022, next various controversies that dogged the company and sullied its reputation among the customers, lawmakers and traders.
