Postal Company honors the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg with a stamp


The U.S. Postal Assistance is honoring the late Supreme Court docket Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg as “an icon of American lifestyle” with a stamp in the new calendar year.

The structure, unveiled on Monday, is a painted portrait primarily based on a image of Ginsburg in a black robe with an intricate white collar, which turned her trademark.

“Soon after beginning her job as an activist lawyer combating gender discrimination, Justice Ginsburg became a respected jurist whose crucial greater part views advancing equality and strong dissents on socially controversial rulings built her a passionate proponent of equal justice,” the company explained in its announcement.

Ginsburg died in 2020 at the age of 87. The freshly unveiled initially-course “forever” stamp of the liberal icon will be offered for order in 2023, although officers did not mention a precise date. A first-class stamp presently prices 60 cents, a selling price that will rise to 63 cents on Jan. 22, 2023.
