Jailed Iranian activist Narges Mohammadi just won the 2023 Nobel Peace Prize

The Nobel Peace Prize was awarded on Friday to Iranian human rights activist Narges Mohammadi.

Mohammadi received the prize for “her combat in opposition to the oppression of women in Iran and her fight to endorse human rights and flexibility for all,” the awards committee stated. Mohammadi is now in prison.

“Her brave struggle has come at remarkable particular price tag,” the committee spokesperson said, incorporating that Mohammadi has been arrested 13 moments, convicted five occasions, and sentenced to a full of 31 yrs in jail and 154 lashes.
