Lufthansa flight attendants to strike on Tuesday and Wednesday

Lufthansa’s cabin crew union has called on its associates to strike at Lufthansa and short-haul provider CityLine on Tuesday and Wednesday to push their demands for increased pay.

The UFO union of flight attendants said on Saturday that the strike, which was voted for by users, would affect departures from Frankfurt airport on Tuesday and departures from Munich on Wednesday.

Lufthansa explained about 100,000 passengers would possible be impacted.

The airline group warned on Thursday its running losses in the first quarter will widen and gave a subdued outlook for 2024 as it struggles with high priced labor disputes, offsetting a vacation increase.

Europe’s airways have benefited from unprecedented desire considering the fact that the pandemic, allowing for them to raise prices, but greater labor and servicing expenditures have limited earnings growth.

Lufthansa in unique has agreed to new, increased pay back bargains to close strikes, which analysts and traders say threaten its 2024 working margin target.

On Thursday, Lufthansa floor staff walked off the work, although on Wednesday cabin crew voted to strike as they search for a 15% wage enhance.
