Israel assaults Damascus airport, 5 soldiers killed, Syria says

Israel carried out an airstrike on Syria’s Damascus Intercontinental airport and other positions south of the money, killing five soldiers and producing content damages, the ministry of defence claimed early on Saturday.

Syrian air defenses intercepted the assault and managed to down most of the missiles, a ministry statement explained.

There was no quick confirmation if the strike has afflicted airport functions.

Israel has intensified strikes on Syrian airports to disrupt Tehran’s escalating use of aerial offer traces to provide arms to allies in Syria and Lebanon like Hezbollah, regional diplomatic and intelligence sources explained to Reuters.
