Iran demands a guaranteed ceasefire to end war permanently, a senior Iranian source told Reuters on Wednesday.

The source said intermediaries contacted Iran on Tuesday, with discussions focused on continuing diplomacy.

The source added that no talks have taken place via mediators for a temporary ceasefire.
