Worldwide Financial Fund Running Director Kristalina Georgieva informed CNBC she has generally worked “2 times as difficult” to be equivalent to her male colleagues.

“I do not want my daughter and my granddaughter to have to work more challenging than guys to be equivalent,” she informed CNBC’s Tania Bryer in an interview broadcast Wednesday.

“I want them to be equivalent just for the reason that they are. This is what I want the tale of my lifetime to be.”

Georgieva was appointed as controlling director of the IMF in 2019 and is the second woman to hold the job. Although the “tide has turned” on women’s roles, there has been a “stage back again” in gender equality in latest several years, the IMF main explained.

“The pandemic, then the war, then the cost-of-living crisis – they harm every person but they have been hurting women the most,” Georgieva stated.
