Alphabet announced Tuesday that it will host its annual developer conference, Google I/O, on May 19 and 20.

CEO Sundar Pichai announced the dates in an X post. The conference will be held at the company’s headquarters in Mountain View, California, and will be available to stream on the conference’s website.

The company is expected to announce updates to Gemini models, other artificial intelligence products and potentially reveal its smart glasses model.

In December, Google announced it would launch its first AI glasses in 2026. Smart glasses have seen a surge in popularity with the success of Meta’s Ray-Bans and other models.

Ray-Ban maker EssilorLuxottica said sales of the Meta AI glasses more than tripled in 2025, with more than 7 million sold.

At Google I/O 2025, the company announced a smart glasses partnership with Warby Parker.

Warby Parker co-founder Neil Blumenthal: Smart glasses will be transformative to our lives
