Handful of motels are as synonymous with old earth grandeur and colonial architecture as the Raffles Resort Singapore — the hotel of option for the metropolis-state’s going to elite since it 1st opened in 1887.

Company from Rudyard Kipling to Catherine, Princess of Wales have graced its hallways, which like the relaxation of the resort have been revamped in 2019 just after a two-yr restoration rumored to have price tag upward of $200 million.

Developed upon 3 hectares around the city’s Central Enterprise District, the resort is itself a vacationer attraction. Visitors prevent to photograph its ornate façade or to sip a Singapore Sling at the drink’s birthplace, the hotel’s Prolonged Bar.

But half of the resort is reserved for company only, stated Handling Director Christian Westbeld.
