Georgian lawmakers on Tuesday voted to override a presidential veto on the Russia-design “foreign brokers” law, pushing ahead with legislation that has induced huge-scale protests in the South Caucasus nation and global condemnation.

The U.S., European Union, NATO and the United Nations have all expressed issue about the invoice, which critics say could jeopardize Georgia’s possibilities of signing up for the EU and force the region back again into Russia’s orbit.
