G-20 nations to condemn Russia’s Ukraine invasion as International Minister Lavrov watches on

G-20 nations on Tuesday will problem a joint assertion condemning Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, declaring “modern era should not be of war.”

Leaders of the world’s major economies are gathered in Indonesia this week. Tensions in excess of Russia’s onslaught in Ukraine has raised issues about whether they would be ready to unite on what is one of the most urgent issues globally, with Russia staying a member of the G-20 grouping. Sergei Lavrov, Russia’s overseas minister, is attending the summit.

“Most members strongly condemned the war in Ukraine and stressed it is producing enormous human suffering and exacerbating current fragilities in the world economic climate — constraining advancement, rising inflation, disrupting supply chains, heightening electrical power and food stuff insecurity, and elevating monetary stability hazards,” the joint statement will say, in accordance to a draft document viewed by CNBC.

The communique has been agreed on by the highest public servants of all the G-20 nations and is envisioned to be accepted by the heads of condition afterwards on Tuesday. At the time of crafting, it was unclear regardless of whether China was between the nations condemning Russia’s war in Ukraine.
