Steve Bannon, a previous aide to Donald Trump, described to jail on Monday to start out a 4-month sentence for refusing to comply with a congressional subpoena.

Bannon entered the federal correctional establishment in Danbury, Connecticut, all over 12:00 p.m., NBC Information described.

His last-ditch effort to prevent jail time while he appealed his conviction was turned down by the Supreme Court on Friday, when the justices launched a one particular-sentence order denying Bannon’s request.

Bannon was greeted by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., and a combined crowd of supporters and protesters when he arrived at a push meeting throughout the street from the federal correctional institution in Danbury.

He instructed reporters he was “happy to go to prison” and had “no regrets,” shortly right before reporting to start his sentence.

Bannon, who served as main strategist in the Trump White Residence till August 2017, is the next previous Trump formal to be jailed for defying a subpoena from the Jan. 6 committee.

Previous Trump advisor Peter Navarro was indicted by a federal grand jury in June 2022 for refusing to comply with the committee’s subpoena. He is currently completing a four-thirty day period sentence in a federal prison in Miami, the Supreme Court docket acquiring denied a equivalent charm from him in April.
