FAA orders airways to pause departures just after technique outage

Hundreds of U.S. flights were being delayed Wednesday early morning after the Federal Aviation Administration experienced an outage of the method that sends messages to pilots.

The FAA reported on its site that domestic departures would be paused right until 9:30 a.m. ET. The company claimed it was operating to restore the Recognize to Air Missions Method.

The White Dwelling reported Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg experienced briefed President Joe Biden on the outage. “There is no evidence of a cyberattack at this stage, but the President directed DOT to perform a comprehensive investigation into the leads to,” White House push secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a tweet.

Additional than 1,200 U.S. flights were being delayed on Wednesday by 7:25 a.m. ET, in accordance to FlightAware.
