DOJ reportedly probes Google Maps, introducing to sprawling antitrust worries

The Section of Justice has renewed its aim on Google Maps, including to its currently-sprawling antitrust investigation into the company, Politico and Bloomberg claimed on Wednesday.

The DOJ is homing in on whether Google illegally bundles its mapping and lookup products and solutions by creating application developers use them alongside one another, the retailers documented, citing unnamed sources. Politico also noted that the DOJ is looking into how Google packages its maps, app shop and voice assistant for automakers through Google Automotive Services.

Reuters noted in March previous yr that the Section was wanting into Google Maps bundling. But the probe has appeared to choose up pace as Politico and Bloomberg documented the DOJ has been re-interviewing possible witnesses, which include opponents and buyers, in modern weeks.
