Chinese provinces warn of thick fog, dozens of Shanghai flights delayed

Really hefty fog in numerous Chinese provinces on Thursday led to dangerously small visibility, closing highways, delaying flights out of Shanghai and prompting weather conditions forecasters to launch a string of warnings and advisories.

Dense fog influenced Shandong, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi and Fujian provinces with visibility below 200 meters (656 ft) whilst some components of southern Jiangsu and southern Anhui experienced visibility beneath 50 meters, China’s Nationwide Meteorological Centre explained.
