Chinese EV startup Jidu strategies to use ChatGPT-like tech

BEIJING — Baidu’s ChatGPT-like merchandise is set to appear to electric powered, assisted-driving automobiles, startup Jidu stated Tuesday.

Jidu, backed by Baidu and Geely, is applying Baidu’s Apollo program for the in-car user interface and assisted driving tech. The startup options to produce its first motor vehicle this calendar year.

Jidu strategies to use Apollo with Baidu’s ChatGPT-like solution, known as Ernie bot in English, the startup stated.

The blended tech aims to strengthen users’ interactivity with the car or truck, the startup reported. So-identified as wise cars like Jidu’s prepared model ordinarily incorporate voice handle.

Baidu mentioned last week it expects to total internal tests of its Ernie bot in March just before opening it to public use. It continues to be unclear how the product’s talents compare with ChatGPT’s, which is made by Microsoft-backed OpenAI.

Jidu opened its first actual physical retailer in Beijing on Tuesday.
