China’s JD.com brings again veteran to guide new grocery business as rival Alibaba strategies spinoffs


JD.com established up an “Modern Retail” division that residences its grocery small business 7Clean. It comes as the firm has gone through a management reshuffle.

Chinese e-commerce large JD.com on Monday reported it set up a new small business centered on groceries and brought a company veteran back again to guide the device.

The “Modern Retail” device will household JD’s grocery retailer business enterprise 7Fresh and team-purchasing unit Pinpin, a spokesperson confirmed to CNBC.

Yan Xiaobing, who retired from JD in 2021 after heading the company’s international business enterprise, will return to head up the Progressive Retail group, the spokesperson claimed.

Meanwhile, JD Logistics, JD.com’s logistics arm, introduced CEO Yu Rui is stepping down as CEO due to health and fitness causes and is changed by Hu Wei.
