Previous Nissan Chairman Carlos Ghosn has sued the enterprise for much more than $1 billion in a lawsuit submitted to Lebanon’s general public prosecutor previous month, according to a duplicate of the lawsuit observed by Reuters.

The lawsuit filed on May well 18 accuses Nissan along with two other providers and 12 named folks of crimes which include defamation, slander, libel and the fabrication of materials evidence.

A judicial resource stated the prosecutor has scheduled a court session on Sept. 18 to start out proceedings.

A spokesperson for Nissan stated the enterprise will not be commenting on the issue.

Ghosn, as soon as a titan of the world wide car sector, was arrested in Japan in late 2018 and charged with financial misconduct. He denied the demand and claimed his detention was element of a plot by Nissan executives to block a merger.
