President Joe Biden experienced a message for lawmakers who defended the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol as he touted his Safer America Approach Tuesday.

“Permit me say this to my ‘MAGA Republican’ pals in Congress,” the president said, referring to former President Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Once more” marketing campaign slogan. “Will not tell me to assist regulation enforcement if you will never condemn what happened on the sixth.”

“For God’s sake, whose aspect are you on?” Biden stated.

Biden admonished the lawmakers as he identified as for much more funding for police before a group at Wilkes College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Investments in neighborhood policing and crime prevention are key plan components of his Safer The us Program, and the president urged communities to use federal money to complement area law enforcement as early as May.

Biden also chided Trump’s supporters in the GOP for proclaiming the mantle as the “law and buy” bash when defending the insurrectionists who attacked law enforcement officers in Washington, D.C., past yr.

“You are not able to be pro-legislation enforcement and professional-insurrection,” he explained. “You can’t be a party of law and purchase and phone the individuals who attacked the police on Jan. 6, patriots. You won’t be able to do it.”

Biden not long ago slammed the “MAGA philosophy” as “like semi-fascism,” which angered the Republican Nationwide Committee. RNC spokesperson Nathan Brand identified as the president’s remarks “despicable.”

Biden also renewed his dedication to banning assault weapons, expressing America’s lax gun legal guidelines contributed to mass shootings in Uvalde, Texas Newtown, Connecticut and Buffalo, New York, amid other places.

“It is really time to hold each elected official’s toes to the fire and talk to them, ‘Are you for banning assault weapons? Indeed or no?’ The answer’s no, vote against them,” he said.

Biden ended his speech by asking the group to vote for Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. and Democratic senatorial applicant, John Fetterman. Fetterman is functioning from Trump-endorsed applicant Dr. Mehmet Oz in a very publicized Senate race.

The president is scheduled to return to Pennsylvania Thursday for a primary-time speech on the “continued fight for the soul of the country” at Independence Countrywide Historic Park in Philadelphia.
