The loss of life toll in weekend attacks in the central Nigerian condition of Plateau has risen to 113, a local official said on Monday, in a region in which clashes between herders and farmers are popular.

It is the worst outbreak of violence in Plateau since May well, when more than 100 persons were killed in farmer-herder attacks.

AFP News Agency experienced cited the Nigerian military on Sunday as declaring 16 folks were killed in the latest attacks.

The performing chairman of Bokkos Local Government Spot of Plateau Condition, Monday Kassah, said 113 people experienced been killed in the attacks on Saturday and Sunday.

“The attacks were perfectly-coordinated. Not much less than 20 diverse communities were being attacked by the bandits,” he stated.

“We have recovered 113 dead bodies from people communities. We have recovered more than 300 injured.”

Kassah did not say who was responsible for the attacks. He additional that the injured experienced been taken to clinic.

A Plateau police spokesperson could not be achieved for remark.
