Apple may be pressured to take away a blood oxygen sensor feature on its latest gadgets in buy to continue to keep the smartwatches on the U.S. marketplace.

The ban stems from an intellectual assets dispute with Masimo, a professional medical machine firm. In Oct, the Global Trade Commission found that Apple’s blood oxygen sensors experienced infringed on Masimo’s mental property.

Earlier this 7 days, court filings recommended that Apple had acquired acceptance from U.S. customs for a modified edition of its Apple Watches that absence the blood oxygen feature and consequently no longer infringe on Masimo’s mental home. It could open a route for a modified Apple Look at to return to U.S. retailer cabinets. An Apple representative earlier this week declined to remark on the Customs decision.

Masimo experienced alleged that Apple experienced poached many of its top rated executives and copied its technological know-how soon after declining a partnership.

If Apple must keep on to keep its most up-to-date smartwatches from U.S. shops, it could complicate repairs at Apple stores, which often swap damaged products with replacements.
