Amazon on Tuesday introduced Amp, a dwell audio application that allows buyers DJ their own show.

Amazon signed up major-name artists like Nicki Minaj, Lil Yachty and Pusha T to host their possess displays on Amp.

“We’ve produced the complicated choice to near Amp,” an Amazon spokesperson stated in a statement. “We realized a great deal about how reside new music communities interact in the system, which we are bringing to bear as we create new lover encounters at scale in Amazon Songs.”

Bloomberg previously noted Amazon’s conclusion to discontinue Amp.

The shift comes as Amazon CEO Andy Jassy has been entrenched in a sweeping evaluate of the company’s bills, as it grapples with slowing sales and a difficult financial state. Jassy has pared back underperforming projects in riskier, newer verticals like health care and grocery, froze company choosing, and eradicated extra than 27,000 jobs.
