Adobe on Tuesday released an artificial intelligence assistant in its Reader and Acrobat apps that can produce summaries of and respond to inquiries about PDFs and other documents.

The AI assistant, currently in beta, is now readily available on Acrobat, “with attributes coming to Reader over the coming days and months,” according to a news release. Adobe programs to launch a subscription plan for the software after it is out of beta.

The AI assistant will help customers digest information and facts from extensive PDF documents by creating quick overviews of their contents, the firm claimed. The assistant can also answer queries about the info in a doc as a result of a “conversational interface,” and advise thoughts about the file that buyers may check with.

Adobe stated the AI assistant can also generate citations that permit consumers to validate the resource of the tool’s answers, and can make textual content for many formats this sort of as emails, shows and reviews, according to the news launch.
