President Donald Trump said Monday that gold will not face tariffs.

Gold futures closed at a record high Friday on reports that the precious metal would face duties. U.S. Customs and Border Protection reportedly said gold bars were not excluded from Trump’s reciprocal tariffs.

The White House on Friday said it would issue an executive order that clarifies “misinformation” about tariffing gold bars and other specialty products.

“Gold will not be Tariffed!,” Trump said in a Truth Social post Monday.
