President Donald Trump on Wednesday sharply criticized the bloc of his own political base that is publicly demanding the release of the so-called Jeffrey Epstein files, calling them “weaklings” whose support he does not want.

“Their new SCAM is what we will forever call the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax, and my PAST supporters have bought into this ‘bull—-,’ hook, line, and sinker,” Trump vented in a Truth Social post.

The president’s swipe at a prominent and vocal subset of his backers is his latest and angriest effort to pressure people within his MAGA movement to stop talking about Epstein.

The convicted sex offender and well-connected financier died by suicide in prison in 2019. But during his life, Epstein moved in a circle of very powerful figures in politics, society and business. Questions about those relationships are at the heart of conspiracy theories.

This group of Trump supporters, which includes high-profile pundits and politicians who typically defend the president, have said they believe the government is hiding information contained in law enforcement records related to Epstein’s sex-trafficking case that would reveal more about his social and business ties.

The Department of Justice this month decided not to release more Epstein files and announced that a long-rumored “Epstein client list” did not exist.

The revelations about the old case put Attorney General Pam Bondi at the center of the conspiracy theories. Trump has defended Bondi, so far.

Meanwhile, Democrats in Congress are capitalizing on this rift in the MAGA world — which Trump acknowledged in Wednesday’s post.

“The Radical Left Democrats have hit pay dirt, again!” he wrote.

“Let these weaklings continue forward and do the Democrats work,” Trump said of his supporters who continue to focus on Epstein.

“Don’t even think about talking of our incredible and unprecedented success, because I don’t want their support anymore!”
