OpenAI previous safety chief Jan Leike joins rival AI startup Anthropic

In a post following his departure from OpenAI, Leike wrote that, “Stepping away from this job has been a person of the most difficult items I have ever finished, since we urgently will need to determine out how to steer and handle AI units substantially smarter than us.”

AI security has attained quick relevance across the tech sector given that OpenAI released ChatGPT in late 2022, ushering in a boom in generative AI products and investments.
