The U.S. Division of Justice has shut its probe into the Mercedes-Benz diesel emissions scandal and the motor vehicle company is no lengthier struggling with fees, the firm claimed on Saturday.

Mercedes-Benz cooperated thoroughly with the DOJ, Renata Jungo Bruengger, board member for integrity, governance and sustainability at Mercedes, mentioned in an emailed statement.

“With the DOJ’s conclusion, we are getting a different vital phase in the direction of lawful certainty in relationship with many diesel proceedings,” she reported, confirming an earlier report in the German newspaper Handelsblatt about the DOJ determination.

In 2016, the U.S. DOJ named on Mercedes-Benz to carry out an interior investigation into possible manipulated emissions, opens new tab values in diesel automobiles.

The auto maker was accused of deceiving people by promoting its BlueTEC cars as “the world’s cleanest and most advanced diesel.”
