Major Amazon exec suggests it is really a ‘myth’ robots steal jobs

A leading Amazon government told CNBC Thursday that it truly is a “fantasy” that robots and other technologies consider work opportunities away from individuals.

Stefano La Rovere, director of international robotics, mechatronics, and sustainable packaging at Amazon, claimed that, rather than replacing work, sophisticated robotics, synthetic intelligence, and other systems are enhancing people’s roles.

He extra that new engineering is leading to the development of completely new work classes.

“It is a fantasy that technological know-how and robots choose out employment,” La Rovere instructed CNBC’s “Avenue Signals Europe” on Thursday.

Amazon says that the introduction of new systems has enhanced extra than 50,000 positions across its fulfilment centers in Europe.
