The European Union has opened infringement proceedings in opposition to Elon Musk’s social media system X, previously known as Twitter, the bloc’s regulator Thierry Breton reported Monday.

He mentioned the step is getting taken in reaction to suspected breaches of X’s transparency obligations and its obligations to counter illegal content material and disinformation, as very well as in response to the social media platform’s alleged “deceptive” style and design of consumer interface.
