South Korea wishes to become 1 of the world’s major arms sellers


From 2018 to 2022, South Korea was the ninth greatest weapons supplier globally, ahead of Israel, the Netherlands and Turkey.

In the latest decades, South Korea has edged out stiff competitors from Western protection companies and less expensive Chinese developers with government assistance, interesting pricing and more quickly delivery periods.

Seoul has ambitions to be the fourth-most significant weapons exporter by 2027, soon after the United States, Russia and France.

“The governing administration will nurture the defense marketplace into a point out-of-the-art strategic business that potential customers financial progress,” South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol has said.

Nowadays, the greatest South Korean protection corporations contain Hanwha, Korea Aerospace Industries, LIG Nex1 and Hyundai Rotem.
