In a conversation on philanthropist Nicolai Tangen’s podcast “In Very good Enterprise,” Gulden was asked about the retailer’s partnership with Ye and how its Yeezy collaboration fell apart. 

“He did some statements, which was not that very good and that caused Adi to split the agreement and withdraw the solution,” Gulden mentioned on the application, which aired Sept. 12. 

“Very unfortunate due to the fact I will not feel he intended what he stated and I will not believe he is a poor human being — it just arrived across that way,” he additional.

Past tumble, the German sneaker big introduced it was ending its very lucrative partnership with Ye and pulling Yeezy items from its cabinets soon after he created a series of greatly criticized antisemitic remarks.

Following widespread community outcry, Adidas introduced it had ended its romance with Ye, stopped production of Yeezy-branded products and finished all payments to Ye and his providers.

Gulden, who was named CEO of Adidas about a thirty day period following the scandal unfolded, known as the company’s break up with Ye “pretty unhappy” since it intended that the retailer “shed that enterprise,” which he described as one of the most successful collaborations in heritage.

“Ending the partnership was appropriate,” the spokesperson stated.
