Putin named Prigozhin’s steps a “blow to Russia,” but there were being no immediate signs his rule was threatened. The defense ministry, below the helm of Putin’s faithful ally Sergei Shoigu, remained silent in the course of the weekend’s occasions.

Kuleba reported it was too early to communicate of consequences for Ukraine, but later on in the day he held a call with U.S. Secretary of Point out Antony Blinken to discuss the situations and Kyiv’s counteroffensive endeavours.

The U.S. Condition Section mentioned in a statement afterwards that Washington will stay “in near cooperation” with Kyiv as the condition develops.

The counteroffensive has been in normal “slower than wished-for,” Zelenskiy mentioned not too long ago.

Oleksiy Danilov, secretary of Ukraine’s Nationwide Security and Defense Council, explained on Saturday there was no rapid withdrawal of Russian forces from the frontline to Moscow.

“They … all stay in their places. They go on their resistance,” Ukrainian state media quoted Danilov as expressing.
