LONDON — A ceasefire in Ukraine is not sufficient for European officers, who want long lasting peace in the area, European Fee President Ursula von der Leyen told CNBC exclusively.

“We are very apparent we do not want only a ceasefire and a frozen conflict in locations of Ukraine, since these locations will generally be fragile. No expense will go there, and the conflict could [at] any time flare up again, as we have realized given that 2014. So it has to be a serious peace,” von der Leyen mentioned on the sidelines of a conference on reconstruction attempts for Ukraine.

Kyiv has been battling a Russian endeavor to absolutely invade the country considering that February 2022. Territorial tensions with Moscow go back to 2014, when Russia illegally annexed Crimea — which Kyiv considers portion of Ukraine.

This is a breaking information tale and is becoming up to date.
