LONDON — Revolut’s Main Fiscal Officer Mikko Salovaara is leaving the digital financial institution immediately after two decades, citing private causes.
“I am grateful for the possibility to provide as Group CFO at Revolut and continue being confident in the firm’s potential achievement,” Salovaara reported in a statement sent to CNBC by means of WhatsApp.
Revolut’s CEO Nik Storonsky said: “I thank Mikko for his contribution and would like him properly on his upcoming actions.”
A organization spokesperson advised CNBC Salovaara resigned and has not been fired. He claimed it would be inappropriate to disclose the own motives that have led to his departure.
The spokesperson mentioned Salovaara’s determination was unrelated to problems flagged by auditor BDO about the company’s fiscal accounts.
In March, BDO mentioned that it was unable to independently verify 3 quarters of the £636 million of income reported by the organization in its delayed 2021 accounts.
