Malaysia key minister suggests Petronas undertaking in South China Sea is in Malaysian territory

Malaysia Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on Tuesday mentioned he had informed China that an exploration undertaking by condition power company Petronas in the South China Sea was in just Malaysian waters, in a reference to an overlapping declare in the region by Beijing.

China was fearful that “Petronas has carried out a main activity at an region that is also claimed by China,” Anwar reported in response to a parliamentary query about his discussions on the South China Sea all through his check out to China final week.

“I stressed … that Malaysia sees the place as Malaysian territory therefore Petronas will continue on its exploration things to do there,” Anwar explained, without specifying an offshore task or a locale.

But if China feels this is their appropriate, Malaysia is open up for negotiations, Anwar reported, reiterating feedback built before this week.
