China’s army states U.S. warship illegally entered waters in South China Sea

China’s navy said on Thursday it monitored and drove away a U.S. destroyer that had illegally entered waters around the Paracel Islands in the South China Sea.

In a statement, the armed forces reported with out the approval of the governing administration, the guided-missile destroyer Milius illegally intruded into China’s territorial waters, undermining peace and stability in the active waterway.

“The theater forces will manage a large state of warn at all occasions and consider all essential measures to resolutely safeguard nationwide sovereignty and stability and peace and security in the South China Sea,” stated Tian Junli, a spokesman for China’s Southern Theater Command.

Pressure concerning the United States and China has been growing in the location.

The United States has been shoring up alliances in the Asia-Pacific looking for to counter China’s assertiveness in the South China Sea and the Taiwan Strait, as Beijing seeks to progress its territorial claims.
