FAA orders airways to pause departures just after technique outage

Hundreds of U.S. flights were being delayed Wednesday early morning after the Federal Aviation Administration experienced an outage of the method that sends messages to pilots.

The FAA reported on its site that domestic departures would be paused right until 9:30 a.m. ET. The company claimed it was operating to restore the Recognize to Air Missions Method.
