Amazon will stream the first ever Black Friday NFL recreation in November 2023, the organization exposed in a joint announcement with the Nationwide Football League on Tuesday.

The match — which will choose spot on at 3 p.m. ET on Nov. 24, 2023, — is the to start with NFL competition to get put on the day just after Thanksgiving, which itself is a customarily major day for NFL game titles. The teams for the Black Friday activity will be announced along with the rest of the matchups in up coming season’s NFL timetable.

The announcement spots the game on the critical discount holiday getaway for brick-and-mortar shops, and the match could travel shopper targeted traffic absent from shops and in the direction of Amazon. Amazon supplies on the web special discounts on both equally Black Friday and Cyber Monday of that holiday break weekend.

“Black Friday is the unofficial start out of the vacation season, and we are thrilled to kick it off with a gift for football fans across the country with this new match,” claimed Jay Maritime, World wide Head of Sporting activities at Primary Video clip.

Even without having an NFL match to offer with, Black Friday this year is previously predicted to underperform past many years. Amazon’s move may well only exacerbate that weak point, which has been expanding as stores more and more distribute out promotions across the holiday break year.

The announcement lauded Amazon’s “Thursday Night Soccer” broadcast, which commenced this year and is averaging 10.8 million weekly viewers, according to Nielson. That viewership is 48% higher than the viewership of “Thursday Night time Football” in 2021, according to Tuesday’s release.
