Biden nominates Lynne Tracy to be new Russian ambassador

President Joe Biden declared he would nominate Lynne Tracy, the recent ambassador to Armenia, to provide as U.S. ambassador to Russia.

Tracy, a occupation diplomat, will acquire about from John Sullivan who left Moscow at the commencing of the month and announced his intention to retire. Tracy served as the next-best official at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow from 2014 to 2017 as deputy chief of mission. She also earlier served as senior adviser for Russia affairs in the State Department’s Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs.

Tracy’s nomination to be ambassador will come at a vital second for U.S.-Russian relations amid tensions above the continuing invasion of Ukraine.

In the course of her career Tracy has labored at U.S. diplomatic outposts together with Turkmenistan, Pakistan and Kazakhstan. Tracy majored in Soviet Experiments and retains a law diploma. She speaks Russian.

Elizabeth Rood, deputy chief of mission to Russia, has led the U.S.’s embassy in Moscow since Sullivan still left.
